The Terrell Owenization of the Democratic Party is pretty much complete. Selfish, media-hogging, and utterly unconcerned about the impact of what they are doing to their team, the Dean-Reid-Pelosi Party has thrown its ongoing collective temper tantrum for months now. And the media has shown up whenever they chose to flex their muscles in the driveway.
I know, the image of any one of those three sweat-lathered and pumping iron is more than you should have to endure, so I'll get off the metaphor. But just as Owens finally wore out his welcome with the American public, so too the Democrats' hissy fitting has outlived its usefulness. It worked for a while. By ratcheting up the rhetoric, the shock jocks of the left called attention to themselves, and that was temporarily fascinating to an America that demands X-Box intense confrontation to sate its appetite for a certain safe, voyeuristic violence.
There is no place in such a party for a man like Joe Lieberman - and no place for him in the media, either, apparently. If man-bites-dog is the standard for news value, then Lieberman's biting his own party should have been a blockbuster event. He is, after all, a former Vice Presidential nominee.
But the media reserves its banner headlines for the likes of the 16-term Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania, whose megaballyhooed criticism of the Iraqi War was neither new (he's been anti-war for a long time now), nor particularly out- of-step with his party - and utterly lacking in intellectual legitimacy. He is the Cindy Sheehan of Congress, newsworthy only because those who determine the news elected to make him so.

Of course I'm sure Eagles fans will disagree, but they really should look at Donovan McNabb, their failure of a leader, as to why the Eagles were "destroyed" this year. McNabb = the John Kerry of the NFL.
Although I'm sure I'm in the very small minority on this one. Hating TO is easy just like hating GWB. Just because something is easy doesn't mean it's right.
Seems to describe the democrats well.
I suppose comparisons can be made both ways, but I see many more of TO and Bush than TO and the Dems. For instance, like GWB, TO produces results, while those around him are too timid or weak to promote such results. (See the US Congress and the rest of the Eagles.)
You ARE in the minority on this one. Owens may produce results, but he is not a team player. Bush, OTOH, has a powerful team, that seems to be in sync, most of the time.
I tend to agree with you on this one.

TO has the mentality of a 16-year old having a bad day because things didn't go his way. I tend to disagree with you one this one.
TO is his own worst enemy. If he had brains, he'd get himself a competant agent, instead of glomming onto the clown he's got now.
