The man sentenced to die for ordering three Fresno murders from his prison cell is suing to save his own life.
Clarence Ray Allen is scheduled to die by lethal injection on January 17th. But he says prison authorities have withheld his medication, denied surgery after a heart attack and held up his ability to seek clemency.
Allen has filed suit for a stay of execution until his medical needs are met, a clemency petition deadline extension is filed and he receives unspecified damages.
Allen is 75 years old.
Tookie plus 4?
The L.A. Times Sunday magazine just did a front page article about California's death row inmates that are elderly. They get lots of medical care, drugs and expensive diagnostic tests. There are people in jail, not surprisingly who are very very old and infirm that require round the clock supervision.
Yeah, gotta make sure he's healthy for his execution.
"Cook him, Danno."
Too bad, Soo sad, Die,Dude!
In Calefonia? Doubt it.
The murderer lost any rights when he killed innocent people. He should have been hanged/fried/shot a long, long time ago.
Roll up your sleeve Clarence, here's the medical care you asked for.
He wants to die healthy I guess.
"Allen has filed suit for a stay of execution until his medical needs are met"
Didn't he get the message?
