YORK, Pa. A high school English teacher had sex with a 17-year-old student several times this fall, according to police who have charged her with corruption of a minor and giving him alcohol.
Robin L. Winkis, 29, had sex with the boy five times, in her home and in her car, during October and November, according to charging documents. The York woman was free on bail following her arraignment on Monday.
Her lawyer, Terrence McGowan, said Winkis was informed by the school district on Friday that it would pursue firing her. She was suspended with pay when the investigation began, but the district stopped paying her after charges were filed, he said.
McGowan declined comment on the charges.
Police said the Central York High School teacher contacted the student repeatedly via e-mail, cell phone text messages and instant messages.
“He and his family are getting the help they need to deal with this stressful situation,” York Police Detective Dana Ward said.
School officials said Winkis has taught in the Central York district for five years and has been the girls’ varsity soccer coach for three years.
As a condition of bail, she may not contact the alleged victim or his family, and may not have unsupervised contact with any minors.
I'm guessing that it has something to do with the fact that in stockinged feet, I'm a cool six inches taller than the gentleman in question.
I remember calls to my parents from upset parents but never was counseling mentioned.
Plus, he's only in my closet 'cause someone insulted his acting ability. His closet residence has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with his sexuality. ;)
That means.. *punching in numbers* ..you're taller than I am.

I heard a theory last week on this topic. More women are getting busted in these matters because there are simply more women principles, counselors, police officers, lawyers, judges, etc then there were say 20-30 yesrd ago.
Back in the day, the males in power (and it was that way) just didn't see it as the crime in the way women in power do. In other words, it got swept under the rug until mothers, wives, and sisters got a look at it. The bottom line is that, while dad isn't too upset, 'mom' doesn't like the neighbor lady down the street doing hanky panky with her 16 year old son.
This made sense to me. Just a thought.
All of these stories are about internet sex. We think that women are not turned on when they see sex on their computer. This is wrong. Women seek sex and act on their feelings because they are human. Men are not the only ones who crave sex, women do too.
Yes. I just don't understand how they can look at the kids as anything but KIDS! Freaky.
