Greetings, FReepers, Troops,
and All the Ships at Sea!
Reporting LIVE! from the Fobbit Hole in the rich bottom lands of the Euphrates River Valley, its the continuing saga of Sarge's Most Excellent Adventure! Well, as promised, the Sarge-Cam did the right things today, so here we go on one of Sarge's zany antics! Seems that over the last week, a few rough spots got hit, so Sarge decided to do something off-the-wall for the stressing Kids Of The Company today. Well, the Fireplace was the first step, and with a few modifications, we were ready:
Taking a bolt-cutter to a Hesco barrier, Sarge made a charcoal grate for the
fireplace, and poured a bag of Kingsford from the PX onto the brick.
The next thing we needed, was all the fixin's, so here we are with these:
Three cans of Van Camp's beans, some Jim Beam BBQ Sauce, a can of
cinammon apples, some Hickory-smoked Spam, and a whole
shelf-load of spices, and we were ready. The Marines donated the small pots, as Sarge already had the stock-pot.
So, then we started up Sarge's Chuck Wagon!
People started coming over to see what Sarge was doing, busy as he looked at the
fireside. Paper plates started apperaing out of nowhere, and and after sundown
and a lot of stirring and poking and spicing, Sarge banged on the stockpot lid
and yodeled, "COME AN' GIT IT!!"
And did they ever, by twos bellying up to the pots and sitting by the fireside.
Groan was one of the first to help Sarge with the table and the fire and the fixin's, so first plate was his.
After the food started dissappearing, and the wood started building a nice evening blaze, we all settled in to eat, and talk about the day, and think about all you back home. After a while, the folks started drifting back to the barracks and to work, and Sarge did up all the dishes and settled by the fire himself, happy with the results.

That's what Sarge did today, Folks!
Sarge will be in the area for a while, so Let's Have Fun!
