I have some images somewhere of the radar picture from that night, I'll try to find them
I'm not sure this technology existed in 1996.

Can the recorded radar also show the trail of flight 800 in July 1996?It is a cool website. You can pull up the NY airports and look at flights.
Unfortunately, the data only goes back to last year.
