I believe that you are correct in that my friend. At least that's the way it is in NM.

I love county sheriffs. They are subject to the whim of the electorate every 2 - 4 years, and are absolutely accountable and powerful, if only they have the gonads to exercise the power.

Can the sheriff of the county tell the city manager and dictate to the chief of police and to the Federal government that drug busts can NOT be done within the city limits?
