As for womens having the same "rights" in malaysia, look into the unequal rights to for malays to divorce, and how citizenships bestowed thru the male side and not the females, their rights under sharia in the east coast states or try getting some malays to come round to your house and do some work for you, and hear them ask something along the lines of "I'll talk to your husband. Where is he?" while they blatantly ignore you (a common complaint I heard from women in the diplomatic and expat community there).
