First of all, I turned off the flash. Then I place a floor lamp off to the right side with 3 60 watt bulbs glowing and snapped the picture. I tried my camera (Kodak digital) on 'auto' and 'landscape' settings and chose the best pic out of 4 pictures taken.

Thank you for the tip on how to photograph Christmas lights, etc. without having all the trappings of a professional photographer! Louie was trying to tell me how to set the shutter speed on my digital, but I don't think I have that option. Maybe the extra 60 watt bulbs would work - I *can* turn the flash off mine. :)

Oh, I missed Dave's instructions somehow. Now, how do I turn off the flash on my digital camera? It's pretty basic.
