This is debatable, but completely clear and undebatable is the fact that his murdered victims were more valuable to society alive than dead. Besides, it's been 25 years since he was sentenced to death ..... it's embarrassing ..... get on with it.
Tookie has already lived 24 years more than his victims. If justice were swift and certain, Tookie would not have had the opportunity to attempt to redeem himself in the eyes of the public. At the very most any attempt to claim redemption should be limited to the two years immediately following his conviction, the time an efficiently functioning justice system would have finally ended any questions. In the 24 plus years since he committed these murders, the memories of the victims have faded from the minds of all except those related to the victims while Tookie is alive and more vivid in the minds of the public. Swift justice would have eliminated any question of commutation.
