Ice-related, I would bet.
Yeah, we have about 5 to 6 inches here. CLTV reporting plane is 737 sitting about halfway into street.
Sorry, that might be in bad taste...I really do hope no one is hurt.
A lot of snow here in Chicago tonight. I think more than was expected.
I believe 55th goes along the north side of Midway. There is a wall that runs along 55th, some of it chain link. Sounds like the jet skidded through the wall.
I don't know what the temp. is in Chicago right now. I could definitely see an ice scenario: ice buildup on the wings so that they can't get airborne, too fast and too far down the runway for an RTO. Bad news, I hope everybody is OK.
We've got our first snow storm in Indiana too. Took me over two hours to get 10 miles home in nitwit traffic. More bluster on the way.
Now I've got to read downthread and see what happened at Midway! Hope everyone is okay.
Thats a pretty short runway they have over at Midway. I think the FAA even has special rules for landing at Midway such as reduced plane weight, lower landing speed, etc.
