Nothing has soured me as much on McCain as this. He actively supports suppression of free speech with that wretched bill. I'm even more fumed that not only did the Supreme Court not laugh him out of there, they allowed most of the provisions! Good thing I don't turn green and go on rampages when I'm angry.

Agree with you completely. McCain made himself even more intolerable by his incessant whining about political ads by "527" organizations during the 2004 campaign.

For God's sake, how do you get to complain about something (and NEVER be challenged by the press) WHEN YOUR OWN ACTIONS WERE THE PRIMARY AND ENTIRELY PREDICTABLE CAUSE OF THE VERY THING YOU'RE BITCHING ABOUT!!!!

EVERYONE with any damn sense knew, far in advance, that when, and to the extent that, you outlaw donations to the political parties (the principal feature of McCain's bill) the same money will instead going to be spent by less accountable and more single interest oriented organizations. It drove me crazy to hear McCain, again and again and again, pissing and moaning about something HE CAUSED! Fer chrissake. Either take responsibility or shut your piehole!
