Used to work with some optics (astronomy) while in college. Blue end of the visible light was in the neighborhood 4000 Angstroms wavelength, then the SI units were pushed, so the equivalent was 400 nanometers.
BTW, the snowstorm I mocked earlier is a total whiteout, 2.5 inches in the last hour.
