Oops.
So what?
Good move, Arnold.
When asked whether Wilkes' appointments were linked to the donations, Thompson said: "Absolutely not . There is no connection at all."
LOL. Yah. right.
See post #3. :-\

So what?
Uh, hate to bother ya but are you a California resident?
Hard to tell from your blank profile.

What? Wilkes looks like a corrupt scumbag. Other than federal campaigns, his biggest contributions went to Schwarzenegger. Arnold needs to distance himself from the scum and the crooks (as he is apparently doing in this case).
Bwahahahahahahaha !!!
What "error" are you talking about? It was lawful--it was just from a yet-to-be-indicted crook. Arnold got contributions ($73,000--the most Wilkes gave to any non-federal politician), then appointed the scumbag to two plum seats, the Del Mar Fair Board and to the State Race Track Leasing Commission .
You don't think there was any connection between the contributions and the appointments?
Arnold is doing the right thing by backing away from the guy.
The error is appointing contributors to plush jobs. That always is room for problems. If the appointment was determined that this individual was qualified for the job, then is was no mistake. But appointments generally based on making large contributions is a mistake in my book.
Do I blame Arnold. Hell No. Do I say be careful. Hell yes. Does this bother you?
