I'm doing my part.

I have a few 22-inch sections in the stove right now...

Carnegie Institution Department of Global Ecology in Stanford, Calif.

Enough said.

We're all doomed, and people who hail from "Institution Departments of Global Ecology" won't be satisfied until the real villain -- man -- vacates the earth, leaving it to revert to its pristine beauty, which no one will see, of course, except the animals.

I know, let's fund a study to determine the exact number of trees in the world needed to strike a balance between global warming and a mini ice age. I will, of course, handle the study and all funds should be directed through me, plus I will need a salary of 300 grand a year(just for the first year and after that I will need raises of 25,000 per year). This study should take a life time because we will continually need to adjust the growth of trees to keep the balance just right! /sar

New computer simulations, however, indicate that establishing new forests across North America could provide a cooling effect for a few decades to a century, but that after that, they would lead to more warming.

So in a century, CUT THEM DOWN! Duh!

We're doomed no matter what we do.

If we pollute, we all die from global warming.

If we stop polluting, we plunge headlong into another ice age.

We should just kill ourselves and get it over with, as long as all the dead corpses would not upset the earth's eco-balance.

LOL. Typical liberal/environmentalist hubris. "We CAN control the world. We CAN build a perfect world. Just watch us."

I have a friend that is a tree farmer (a Conservative tree farmer I might add) who points out that after 25 years or so, most trees put out more Oxygen than they obsorbe Carbon Dioxide. I would say cutting down the trees after 25 years would make even more sense
