I am not as optimistic. Rep Weldon is now catching flak over his membership in the Main Street Republican Project, a moderate Pub group who took money from Soros in the last election cycle. He is being lambasted to include his work on the Able Danger cover up. LTC Shaffer has been fired from his work after coming forward on the Atta being identified prior to the 911 attack. They really got into the character assassination mode on him. (Kinda like what Linda Tripp got during the Clinton/Lewinsky affair). He is also being silenced by court order from speaking on the matter. The cover up by the former 911 Commission Members and lack of follow up in the media is astounding. The BS spouted by Kean and Ben Vinesta just flies out unchallenged. The big one that they looked at all the Able Danger data and found nothing important is a damned lie. The commission did not receive any information on Able Danger until after the report had gone to the printer. There is adequate reason for both parties to bury the Able Danger story. Clinton's dereliction of duty on prosecuting Bin Laden and Al Queda and of course Bush will be blamed because of 911 happening on his watch. IMO the evidence that Able Danger did identify Atta and the 911 terrorists is that we had pictures of all the 911 hijackers in a matter of a few hours after the attacks. Just how did that happen? I guess they just pulled those pictures out of thin air. Silly me.

"I am not as optimistic...."

I agree with your conclusion that nothing will happen vis-à-vis able danger. My optimism, has to do with the future of America, not this one issue.

"There is adequate reason for both parties to bury the Able Danger story."

That is the key. This issue is somewhat unusual in that: 1) the President holds most of the cards, due to being President, 2)the President obviously has reason to want to suppress the Able Danger story, and 3) the MSM also wants to suppress the Able Danger story (because it would sully Clinton.)

Hence, the combination of forces is probably too great to overcome.

I realize there is a lot of negative news at this point in time. But let's not lose sight of the positives. The fact is, conservative Republicans in the US represent the most potent political force on the planet---the most powerful political force in the history of man.

We do have real difficulties to contend with; primarily we need to cope with subversion from the Left, which is trying very hard to undermine our Party. Attacks on Republicans, like Tom DeLay are not as random as they seem. The Hard Left, has made inroads into our legal system that are parallel to the inroads they have made into the mainstream media, colleges and universities, the State Department, and other institutions.

But all conservative Republicans need to do to win is to become aware of the nature of the Hard Left and to look more closely at their tactics. The Hard Left can only defeat us if they are allowed to operate in the shadows without our knowledge. As soon as conservative Republicans start to shine an effective spotlight on the Hard Left, they will start to fade in power.

The second factor that could potentially lead to defeat by the conservative Republicans is if we fall apart and become demoralized or lose our unity. This we must not do.

Do you know/can you say Who is giving Mr. Weldon flak?

The cover up by the former 911 Commission Members and lack of follow up in the media is astounding.

No, it is not astounding (and I do know what you mean by this.) It's TYPICAL of these "show glory hounds". It's always about the money. I've been meaning to look into exactly what each commission "member" is making in money or perks for being on this "om-(mani-padre-hum)mission".

There is adequate reason for both parties to bury the Able Danger story. Clinton's dereliction of duty on prosecuting Bin Laden and Al Queda and of course Bush will be blamed because of 911 happening on his watch

More than ample reason why Clintonoids are shushing it; but the Dems really shot off their footsies (a la D-Cynthia McKinney) in their "Bush Knew and Planned it" 9-11 sing-song at onset. If they'd a waited, they could have tried "it's Bush's fault"; but obviously, they saved that song for Katrina, and other natural disasters. The timing of 9-11 happened far too soon after the President's inaugguration for it even to remotely seem as "his fault on his watch".

IMO the evidence that Able Danger did identify Atta and the 911 terrorists is that we had pictures of all the 911 hijackers in a matter of a few hours after the attacks. Just how did that happen? I guess they just pulled those pictures out of thin air. Silly me.

Nope. You are not being silly. Those photos were so instantly available, I've no doubts the AB data has been preserved, and under another "project title".
