Yes, they are supposed to, and most people think they do, but they do not. For just one example (does anyone want to name other examples?), try publishing a select grouping of quotations by
de facto ALA leader
Judith Krug, quotations that she actually made and that were published but that show how radical and extreme she and the ALA are, and those quotations will be repeatedly censored by the ALA censorship police themselves and their acolytes. For proof, see
