What I can't understand is why the aych-ee-double-toothpics they'd choose this song to perform when there are tons of other holiday songs out there that wouldn't have to be altered.

My school chorus got around concern over too many religious carols by singing many of the "classics" in their original language. Examples: Silent Night in German. Angels We have Heard on High in French. O Come All Ye Faithful in Latin.

Why don't they just get Philip Glass to compose the music for their Winter play.

What's next?
Here comes the fat guy
Here comes the fat guy
Right down the fat guy lane
Unnamed animal and unnamed animal and all his unnamed animal friends
are hanging out down the lane.
Ordinary bells are ringing, children talking;
All is normal and right.
Hang your socks on the dryer and say goodnight,
'Cause the fat guy comes tonight.

This is an obvious PROHIBITION of the free exercise.

In 1933, Nazi Minister for Popular Enlightenment and Propaganda Joseph Goebbels began the synchronization of culture, by which the arts were brought in line with Nazi goals. The government purged cultural organizations of Jews and others alleged to be politically or artistically suspect.

Whoever owns the rights to 'Silent Night' should sue the school...and anyone else that rips off their song and pastes new words on it.
