"The northern half of the U.S. would be uninhabitable to me. It isn't that bad, you get used to it after a while."No you don't. Having lived in Cleveland and Chicago, I KNOW that you have years where you just don't warm up after winter. That's why we are in TN.

I usually take my first cup of coffee outside first thing in the morning. This morning it was 5AM and about 5 degrees.

I think that the government should give us financial assistance, because of the weather. If the government can give financial assistance for people who live in areas prone for hurricanes, then the government should support us who live in frigid areas.

Nice graphic. Notice how the temperatures in Nebraska are lower than the temperatures further north in the Dakotas. That area of the Great Plains is one of those wretched "40-40" regions of North America (for Canadians, who use the metric system) -- where it can be -40C (-40F) in the winter and +40C (104F) in the summer.

My gas heating bill nearly tripled this month. Where are you at? I'm assuming *not* in Sarasota. :)

I'm thinking about going fishing this afternoon. I'd go ice fishing too but my freezer is already full of ice.

Sure looks cold in NYC:

Time to bundle up!
I much prefer global warming...4 years in the Eifel region of Germany was enough for me!

All four deer that I've gotten this year were loaded with fat. Sign of a bad winter, or just good forage and mast this year?

We had a drought this summer so I don't think deer put on any fat. The deer out your way must have had a lot of natural food to eat?
