However, Gurevich did not recommend surgery, based on Joe's medical history. The Great Dane had a leg amputated earlier that year and had been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, she said.

It’s likely the dog would not have survived the surgery. Would the vet still have been sued? I am very attached to my little dog – but he’s over 14 years old. If he had a problem that required surgery I would have to allow him to be put down instead of suffering through it.

We already know this woman is a little bit toony for getting her dog chemo. I think there comes a time when we need to say goodbye to Fido. I know it's hard--I don't like doing it, but you can go overboard with an animal trying to prolong its life.

This won't go anywhere. I'm fairly certain that under the law a pet is considered property, so the maximum amount a plaintiff could sue for would be the value of the pet. A purebred greyhound can easily be obtained for under $1000, so the $50k lawsuit is bs.

This woman should be countersued for inflicting pain and suffering on the poor animal. And her attorney should be sued for inflicting stress on the vet. I believe every word of this story. I believe this woman is suffering tremendously from the loss of her beloved dog. But just because she thinks her dog is her child doesn't mean an attorney should listen to her.

If her dog did survive surgery, most likely would not have lasted long after that.
