Weinmar Germany is an example of a government simply printing paper (I refuse to call it money) and lets not forget Soviet Rubles, semi worthless except to the drones in the Soviet Union.

paper money is only of value if the people believe it is.

Gold and silver always have value. paper is paper.

I guess that you need to be reminded that the price of can be and HAS BEEN forced to keep an arbitrary price. Or maybe you don't know that gold was once $30 an oz. by law; now you do. :-)

I suggest that you read a lot of history. WW I and its aftermath was what caused world wide depressions. Do you think that America's GREAT DEPRESSION happened in a vacuum?

Name a commodity and/or a currency that has never been price manipulated. It doesn't matter if it's paper money or gold or silver or copper or salt or cowry shells...you can't do it! There is no set intrinsic value for anything.
