If that were the case then she would have said "you" (or ya'll if she's Texan), not "they."
I just want to jump in here to say I watched the whole interview also. Keep in mind what Jeff Head wrote is not a direct quote. I believe he's paraphrasing from memory what she said. Unfortunately, I didn't tape it so that's what I'll have to do also.
In the beginning of the interview she was clearly talking about how her father went there to help the Iraqi people and that he was specifically helping detainees and families of detainees, and that he was very welcomed by the Iraqi people.
At the end of the interview, however, when asked what she would like to say directly to the captors, she clearly (and I know this because it shocked me when I heard her say it) said something along the lines of "the captors should know that killing him will not help their cause. He was there to do what they want to see done." It was crystal clear to me that she was talking about what the captors want to see done in Iraq.
Now, I don't personally believe she means her father is in favor of terrorists, carbombs, beheadings, etc. I believe she and her father are simply naive and perhaps honestly believe that these "captors" have some simple reasonable requests and all they want is to see unlawfully detained innocent people freed, etc. I think she is simply deluded and doesn't realize that these "captors" are also terrorizing the Iraqi people and that what they want in Iraq is an Islamic terrorist tyranny. At least I hope it's simply naivete and delusion.
Thanks for the clarification.
That or treason, there is no middle ground.
Naive? Sanctimoniously ignorant destructos. Terror morons. Not Naive.
