It's a start. The women's refuge centers around here tend to be run and staffed by Christian types or just concerned women who are not feminists.
LOL as the media joke is Headline PM caught wearing womens clothes, the article is about Margaret Thatcher.
That "Chap" is one of the most insightful writers on social matters in the West. Read "Life at the Bottom" and you will find chapter after chapter that shows the collapse of English policing and law. Subjects ( not citizens) are advised to hide in a room and call the police on cell phone if their home is invaded. They are prosecuted for attempting to defend their homes or property. They are warned about "excessive force" ie using a bat to defend themselves against a knife wielding home invader.
No one is asking you to wear sack cloth and ashes. But try pulling your head out of the sand.
I have lived in some of the toughest parts of England and I know what reality is like at the bottom instead of sitting in some comfy armchair writing and whining about life I lived it.
Cant stand any armchair types, military sociologists left and right.
IF i was bothered I could also get another professor who would have a ton of papers talking about what a fascist state my country is.
LOL to me these pundits both on the right and left need to get outside there comfy little libraries and experience real life.
NOW, NARAL, women's rights groups in America... they hate Bush way more than they care about women
Just like the UN. Totally unconcerned about slavery in Africa today, in 2006. Much more willing to bitch and moan about slavery in America in 1859.
I'm speaking of America. If you say it's different in Britain, I'll take your word for it. For now. But I'm skeptical. Left is left and knows no borders. And the left hates capitilism and the western world far far more than they hate slave-holders and abusers of women (if they even hate them at all, which is questionable).
That pundit has a lifetime of experience of dealing with societies dysfunctions. Upfront and personal, not academic crap, but daily interaction with the poor, the crazy the violent, and those they impact. Just a suggestion but go to City Journal and read a few of his columns. You might find yourself enlightened.
The UK has no death penalty and I've read about terrorist killers getting 10 year sentences. I was just wondering
All societies have had dysfunctional, I dont need to read about them I grew up in a dysfunctional neighborhood, over 40 years ago.
Spent half my military life patrolling those neighborhoods in North Ireland, Africa , Balkans and Iraq, I know real bad when I see it, usually it from round a corner as its taking pot shots at me
There has never been a time when society has not had a criminal element and never been a time when someone hasn't said it was better in my day.
LOL.
I still stand by my original point any one responsible for a honor killing will investigated and stand trial for premeditated murder.
Off the subject of this thread but will deal with it.
Yes you are correct we don't have a death penalty.
Ok which terrorist killers were these can I have the story names of those involved the terrorist activity they were caught carrying out, or were sentenced for and the terrorist group they belong to.
,,, Enoch had a window on all this but Britain didn't want to know.
And where does Tony Blair fit into this.
As an American you have an American perspective.
LOL as a avid Internet surfer I understand that from American web sites of all political hues.

Where does Tony Blair fit in to what? Are you changing the subject?
Well Tony Blair is seen as left in Britain, i.e central left rather than middle or hard left.
In Britain apart from a few subjects most of those who call them self's left or right do not neatly fit into neat boxes.
So you may get a Conservative who is anti the war in Iraq and a Labour supporter who supports the war.
That is my point
I didn't mean the UK where got the low sentences, that was elsewhere in Europe. Sometimes I get ahead of myself.
Why do I think there would be a lot less "grappling" if the perpetrators were Christians(?)
