There it is. Turn on the news it should be on right about now. His co-conspirators too.
I believe an earlier comment touched upon the book written by Rita Katz,
Terrorist Hunter.
Another book that explores the failed anti-terror strategy that resulted in the Sami al-Arian debacle is "American Jihad," by Steven Emerson.
I bet O'Reilly talks about this tonight.
This is so very disturbing to me. Yet again we see terrorist financers and supporters get off scott free.
It almost looks to me like this country has forgotten how everyone felt on 9 11. It sure looks to me like people in general have taken for granted again the security they live in. That they have overwhelmingly clicked the snooze bar on the alarm that was 9 11.
I am disgusted and I am now more confident than ever that history will repeat itself with all of us seeing a nuclear device detonated in one of our cities. Then people will say, more should have been done, then people will oppose everything that is offered to be done and claim the government is the enemy.
I fear for my country and feel that it is already lost. At least for now. The only thing I can tell ya is you better be stocking up on ammunition like I am!
the acquittals should be tossed out based on this - if some jurors were placed under duress by others in this manner, the judge ought to had the guts to toss the whole damn thing and retry the entire case.
O'Reilly ought to find these jurors who were whipped into voting for acquittal, and put them on the air to tell us what was going on in those deliberations.
Sami al-Arian is one of the founding members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
His counterpart at the USF's WISE Institute-actually, a front for Islamic jihad in the United States-Ramadan Shallah was immediately elevated to the leadership of PIJ after his predecessor, Fathi Shikaki, was assassinated in Malta.
This man should have never seen an American courtroom, and if the governing five member majority of nitwits on the Supreme Court didn't like it, then they could have gone to hell.
When Abraham Lincoln decided to suspend habeas corpus in two instances during the Civil War, i.e. violate the Constitution itself, instead of merely violating a horrible misreading of that document, he was right to do so.
Why can't we have a leader(s) today with as much guts as Abraham Lincoln, who, aside from his persistence and dogged determination to accomplish his goals, was in no way an extraordinary man?
I'm stunned and nauseous. Since you are "in the area" are you getting any rhyme or reason for such a verdict on your local media coverage? I know it can't possible be a logical reason, but...?!?
I give this country 15 years max.
Lock up the jury.
He was the North American head of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which has murdered hundreds of Israelis and dozens of Americans abroad.
we can't even get the actual "soldiers" like Moussouai and Padilla charged under military tribunals, much less a guy like Al Arian.
while I agree with you general sentiment, in this case in particular, its the jury.
I'm pissed over this. I know the lawfirm that actually got this guy's visa when he first came here. He's a sleeze bag, the scummiest of scum. He'll be shot or taken into a back ally somewhere.
What a win for the islamofacists today. I wonder what Pilosi, Boxer, Schumer and Kennedy are doing tonight - probably celebrating.
God this makes me sick! And I LIVE in this damn State where they acquitted this moron! I want to rip my hair out!
the "judicial process" has its problems - but juries are made up of people. its not the "process" that is failing, its the guy next to you on the freeway, the person on line with you at McDonalds - its our own fellow americans.
I am sure you are not saying that all Californians are like a disease. So, I won't be offended.
there is nothing I can say.
this is one reason why I actually enjoy serving on jury duty now - I want to go, in fact, I would volunteer to serve if I could. I'd sit there forever before changing my vote, I don't care how long it took.
"Rasul" and "Hamdi," along with every other asinine decision decreed by the Supreme Court merely illustrates how much it has strayed from the principles of this nation's founding fathers.
The fact that we're even discussing how best to deal with individuals that pose an existential threat to this nation-and its fundamental underlying values-demonstrates how far we've fallen.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it just a few generations ago that we executed war criminals that trespassed on American soil, and even their American accomplices?
He may very well be, but he wasn't charged with murder, which might have been easier to prove than money laundering. Although I do not know the specific crime he was charged with, crimes like money laundering and conspiracy are often difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
