Tipping seems so European.

You have obviously never been outside the USA. Tipping is almost exclusively done here.

Just back from Germany and 10% tipping is the norm.

It is a different Europe now.

That was my thought too. I was not going to reply, but you are right. Tipping in Europe is rare if ever. I wonder if this person was ever in Europe before.

Just because they call it "bribing" rather than "tipping" doesn't mean it doesn't happen there.

Many european waiters LIKE americans because we usually tip even if the tip is included to reward extra good service.
