"You have a pretty disgusting racist view there."

Muslims are not a race, they are a religious group comprising of many races. Many people from my own race are today Muslims. So you accusation doesn't stick.

And I will stand by my word. Name at least one famous modern day Mathematician, scientist ....Nobel prize winner from the Muslim world?

Ever since Muslims came out of the Arabian hell hole and went out on their crusades... conquering, ravaging, raping ,looting, pillageing, slaughter, destroying, demolishing all that which took years to build, you think they had any time to sit back and become civilised enough to delve into the depths of science and mathematics. Pah!

All that they are left capable of doing after years of butchery is to rip off from those whome they have conquered or killed, any bits and pieces of knowledge that survived the carnage and claim it as their own invention. All the Khwarizmis, Khayyams, and Kamils merely did was to translated into Arabic/Persian original works of Indians, Chinese, ancient Egyptians and Greeks.

And btw I am advocating in favour of Indians, Chinese, Egyptians and Greeks and all those cultures that came ages before the Muslim came on to this planet. And all of these are different races. So my views may be disgusting for you but they are definitely not "rascist".

"Hell, Fibonacci, a.k.a., the father of mathematics, learned math from the Muslims."

Yeah right! Just like how America was originally "Emirka" discovered first by Arab seafarers. So even Leibnitz and Newton learned math from Muslims, no?

Modern? Hell, no! Muslim civilization has degenerated too much. Right now we're talking about what they did in the past.

you think they had any time to sit back and become civilised enough to delve into the depths of science and mathematics.

Yes, they did. Check out the University of Baghdad, which eclipsed Jundaisapur as THE center of learning under the Abbasid Caliphate. When Mamun traded gifts with other states, he gave riches and asked for philosophy books in return (thus gaining possession of the works of Aristotle, Plato, etc.).

Simply, there was a line of powerful caliphs who believed strongly in education and scientific and philosophical advancement. They pushed Muslims in that direction, and literally backed this quest for knowledge with their gold. Who knows, maybe they had a chip on their shoulders to make up for originally being a backwater culture.

However, things reverted quite quickly once that line died out. Even from the most revisionist Muslims you will probably hear few if any stories of scientific accomplishments after the 13th Century.

Read Fibonacci's bio, that's what happened. Evidence does show that the rich (and I mean RICH!) West African Muslims made it to the Americas following the North Equatorial Current, which flows straight from Africa to the Americas. However, they never made it back (no Eastbound current there), so it's not much more than a historical footnote.
