Because they know the MSM wants to protray this as a quagmire. It is all about getting rid of the GOP and replacing it with cut-and-run Demonrats.
That's true, but this may not yield the desired results. I would think that this would make many Americans angry that they are victims and rather than blame the War, they would blame the thugs who kidnapped the American.

From what I read, Democrats in Congress are different entities behind closed doors than in public. And it seems as though the Dem flopping around on withdrawal does reflect a view that the polls do not support "cut and run".
I agree. Rhetoric aside, it is possible for a Dem to be the loyal opposition, even if only for a short time.
Yes, but we also have to realize that many in the media are trying to undermine the war by publishing every "victory" the terrorists gain. When some people only see the terrible things happening to our citizens, it will eventually taint their view, particularly if they have lost sight of the whole picture.
