The traffic nightmare around places like Los Amgeles is a disgrace. Cars sit in traffic spewing pollution because there's not enough highways. Why that is, I don't know. But I will gladly join the liberal environmentalists in calling for massive highway projects in order to alleviate this unnecessary situation. What the enviro's really want, and are pushing for again in 2006 with the gazillionth attempt for a ballot measure to fund it, is high speed rail. Going back into the fifties and sixties, the lefties have been pushing for commuter rail ever since. They actually are behind the disappearance of all the old Mom and Pop gas stations in this State. Where we live six stations have been forced out of business...but that is a different topic isn't it.
