I guess I should be pleased that I never heard of Ms Cho.

Ms. Cho is the least funny comedian out there. She makes her money by being a liberal, whiney, angry, fruit cake.

Even before I cared about the political alignment of a comedian's humor, she was not funny. Too vulgar with absolutely no character.

Margret Cho, just another loud obnoxious Liberal oppoinated lesbian who thinks insult and slams are fun enough to do on stage. Someone who has had a TV show and many other goodies that still keep her bitter.

I think she used to have a TV situation comedy some years ago. It stunk. I'm sure if she's now anything like her old show, she still stinks.

Thanks, I enjoyed reading that. I liked the author's comparisons of the vulgar humor of Cho to Klein, a man I find to be incredibly funny.

Margaret Cho is an even whinier on-stage Maureen Dowd.

That's not fair. Cho may whine with greater volume but MoDowdy's whine has that indescribable extra something that makes it especially grating on the nerves.

You never heard of her because she's not at all humorous or particularly intelligent. I have no idea how she gets a stage job. That is, when she can get one.

Great post, althought my goodness what a big Robert Klein fan. I would like to hear that little rascals routine, I must say. I still fondly remember his "every record ever made..we bring the truck to your house! Lithuanian language records....."

Richard Pryor truly was a genius, always absolutely brilliant.

Margaret Cho is a client for the Comedian's Social Worker. She is fat, stump like in height and appearance, and she is a minority. Affirmative Action for comedians in progress, or should I say, regress. Ms. Cho is not qualified, but must be hired despite her absence of talent.

Early in his career, Lenny Bruce was funny. Unfortunately, it's the latter, bitter, unfunny part of his schtick that has been coopted by modern comedians..

Robert Klein was definitely one of the funniest guys around. I still cringe when I think about the dentist routine. When he used make drill like noises, it was hysterical. He's also good guy in real life too.

Bruce was funny indeed, but, like most of the anointed, had a streak of self-destruction that he mistook for "cutting edge" or whatever the term was in the day. His shtick consisted in a jazz like improvisation of absurd observations, wild imitations, and long bits with many characters thrown in. Comics today are vile, as a rule, but most of the anointed share this trait.

Klein is hilarious, likable, self-deprecating, and intelligent. Why he clings to liberal shibboleths escapes me.

Honestly, name a funny female comedian. Someone that makes you laugh for more than 5 minutes without getting on your nerves?

Think he did that skit on the Flip Wilson show.

I remember a summer "replacement" show called Comedy Tonight. Think it aired in the early 70's. Great show and IIRC Klein was on it regularly.
