I cannot imagine Redford the Bush hating Lefty being feted and honored by President and Mrs. Bush. Oh the Horror...he he he...and the IRONY!
Additionally, how would any of us like to have to play kissy-face with someone who was on record as hating us - in the media and elsewhere, shaking hands, making nice, and having to act like it didn't bother us? I couldn't do it. I'd probably just want to smash Redford's face in. But that's just me.
