Since the Red Cross is in no way a religious organization, I think they should adopt the Red Diamond for all operations, and do away with the cross and crescent altogether.
It was never intended to be a religious symbol. The red cross was formed by a Swiss guy and he simply reversed the swiss flag, which is a white cross on a red background.
