How does the army get by without 16" guns?

16" guns are not easily transported on land. "Atomic Annie" is the largest gun the army has attempted, and even with an 11" bore had relatively light weight projectiles and muzzle velocity compared to Naval cannon. Rate of fire was very low. The projectiles were nearly manhandled into place. "Annie" weighed 47 tons not including the transporter vehicles, requiring two vehicles one in front and one in back.

"Annie" was a handful to transport in other ways.
