Here's a partial list...

Where are the carriers, the Air Force, Marine Aviation, and Marine artillery battalions in your scenario?

I was not indicating that everyone would not be involved. My point was if you need to dump a Marine BLT or MEB into one of those situations it would be a good idea to have Fire Support close at hand.

The CVBG would be interdicting reinforcements and providing top cover.

The Air Force would (if in theater) be performing deep strike missions and tanker/AWACS support plus additional top cover.

The Army would not be involved in these scenarios due to their quick developement though RDF units would probably reinforce the initial Beachhead. (Potentially an Airhead could also be involved but these areas are specifically in littoral areas, besides the Army liked Big Gun Navy support too)

Marine Aviation: Some Hornets on the carrier + harriers on the LHA/LHD but they have limited numbers in these early response crisis situations, so not many loitering at any given time.

Marine artillery for a MEU is 1 battery of towed 155 Howitzers 6-8 tubes, a couple of 8" Burkes would at their higher rate of fire provide about 2-3 times that firepower.
