One has to think the Jordanian government isn't liking this one bit, either. Israel's not that "wide" a territory.

How come Iran being allowed to build an atomic bomb is not discussed by these people as "gates of Hell opening" and "Pandora's box"?

You are right. They should have said, "Let's reopen Pandora's box" and let Hope out.

Do not underestimate Israel instinct for survival. They have been at it a lot longer than any other nation on this planet.
Besides what do you think the US will do if Israel strikes...Go nuclear on the israelis? I don't think so.

Of course not. We would never attack Israel (anything of that sort is so foolish we need not even discuss it further).

However, If Israel were to act in to reckless a fashion (nuclear, for example, or no heads-up on an Iranian strike) well then if we (U.S.) decide not to put additional U.S. "boots on the ground" in Iraq in support of such an operation - Israel would quickly find itself in a conflict it couldn't sustain -

Israel has to have our support to survive in the ME today. That is a fact. Israel would have to have our direct support in any large scale military conflict today or it would stand a good chance of losing such a conflict as it cannot win a battle of attrition. Which is exactly the way Syria and Iran (and Hezzbullah, al Qeade) are determined to fight Israel in the future.

Israel has been preparing for this conflict since 1967.And the Israelis are not foolish enough to ever entrust their own military security to the benevolence of any foreign nation even the US. If they feel threatened by Iran, they will act in their own interest without asking permission from the US.
After the Holocaust the "jewish nation" decided "never again".Never again would they have to rely on others for the defense of their survival.
Israel does not rely on the US for their national defense.
The US does not even know Israel's actual nuclear abilities now.

Yes and yes again. This needs to be settled comprehensively; a comprehensive rollback.

Wrong. In every-way imaginable (and Israel's nuclear abilities are meaningless for the most part. Regarding this situation. They are not going to nuke Iran, no matter how much smoke people want to talk.)

As for what we (U.S.) know and don't know about Israel. Think what you want. That is immaterial.

Here's hoping for a massive, uncontrolled, outbreak of Avian flu in Iran.

El Baradei continued "Therefore, I advise every Isra-eli living within the Zionist Entity to purchase plane tickets to the Great Satan United States while there is yet time."

I suspect, they already have several nukes. Nobody talks smack like that, if their not packing.

Already have, or are so far AWAY from having that the rhetoric serves its own purpose.

Your entire argument is that Israel depends on US for its survival and requires its permission to act to protect its survival.
This is pointless if you have no knowledge of the actual capabilities of Israel.
The general consensus is that Israel is very nuclear able. They did not acquire and develop this technology to put it in a museum.
Read the comments of their defense minister last week regarding action having to be taken after March 2006 if talks fail and remember that Israel has the 4th largest airforce in the world. They will use what they have if they have to. You can stick your head in the iranian sands if you want.

Yeah, they think we are too tied down by the enemy in Washington to stand in their way.

There is a saying I applied to the palesites earlier that might be appropriate here as well: If you keep doing what you been doing you'll keep getting what you been getting. The original context was for drunks who keep messing up their lives, but I turn it around for Iran and the pals. Their bluster and violence gets them concessions, so why wouldn't they keep it up in hopes of more concessions?

I honestly see the whole Middle East erupting in warfare in a worst case scenario.

This could very well happen. The situation reminds me of pre-WWI Europe with the interlocking alliances, etc. and the delicate balances of power that the fools in the striped pants diplomatic corps had established.

It's like the idiots construct a house of cards and then stand back and say "Admire my Oeuvre! Don't get too close, it will fall!" Then it falls, and it's somebody elses fault.

I'm sure they didn't intend for millions to perish in the mud of France and Belgium. At least in WWII there was a villain. In WWI nobody even really knew what they were fighting about.

So, my question is, does Russia have the NAD to go MAD on us over Iran?

When Iran has a nuke the Isralis are going to feel their back is to the wall. I don't see any other option, but for them to make a first strike...and in the not too distant future. Mind you, I am not saying Israel cannot take out Iran's capability without nukes, rather I just do not see how they can accomplish the task.
