Morning everyone! Home from chilly Georgia to frigid Minnesota. My husband and I attended our son's graduation from boot camp. It was wonderful. On Thursday, we attended the "turning blue" ceremony where we presented Mike with his blue infantry cord. These men had just finished one of the most intense trainings for the army, yet there they were, all spit and polished in their class A's receiving their cords. I can't tell you how honored and proud I was to be able to do that. On Friday, was the actual graduation. They put on a little demonstration to show what the infantry does in battle. They emerged out of the woods in their "gilley suits" (sp?), out of the Bradley's and out of the trees. These men were trained! The Army made all of the families feel so welcome and were quite patient with our sometimes silly questions. Three companies graduated that day and there were many families and friends to support their soldier. We are in very capable hands!
Best Military in the World!
Congratulations, you should be Proud.
May God Bless and Protect him. Thank you!
Loved your post, kimmykay - that must have been such a wonderful experience, seeing all those young boot camp graduates!
