"The CIA is no longer in the business of political assassination.

It has, however, moved on to character assassination. The oversight committees of the Congress would do well to investigate."

Breathes there a Congress critter with any spine left?

I have no argument with Mona Charen, but this is the "Duh!" headline of the month, maybe the year.

Please, for Pete's sake, fling open the doors of Area 51! Wait a minute....is there ANYTHING that SHOULD be kept SECRET any more? Let's just leak everything and I'll let the MSM tell me what to think.

"How did this bit of classified information become public? It was a leak from within the CIA..."

I'm sure the leak came from within the CIA. Why? Because some individuals think that this operation ineffective. And, they (CIA) don't want to play the role of a 'Federal Bureau of Prisons'.

The CIA is a government bureaucracy; like any such bureaucracy it attracts a lot of mediocrities and lightweights. I wish it was more widely know just how political (internally) the agency can be.

Probably not and God knows Porter Goss could use their support. Their new logo...

As unpleasant as it is, we can live with the UN in New York.

What we can't live with is the CIA in Washington.

The CIA has too many traitors within. It should be disbanded and a new organization, on a new model, must be built.

Attacking the CIA in a frontal mode would probably not be successful. But, how about if GWB changed the CIA's mission to something meaningless and, in parallel, initiated a new agency to replace it; the good employees from the CIA could be pulled over and the rats could go down with the sinking ship, squeaking and squealing as the water closes over them.
