That makes good sense, seeing as how they're actually only 1 to 2 per cent of the population. I say raise the quota to 25%.

Can we hope that they all "dress" for the occasion?

Great. Maybe they can have one of those Pride parades. You know, with the feather boas, chaps, biker hats, etc. Completely mainstream stuff.

And what's the quota for pro-American delegates at the 2008 DNC convention? 0%?
To: NativeNewYorker
As if the delegates at the Dem National Convention are not already a bunch of San Francisco freak show Liberals.

They don't need no stinking quotas when they got Big
Vet Murtha!!

"DNC Chairman Howard Dean unofficially endorsed a move by gay Democrats to require the party to guarantee that 5 to 10 percent of their '08 convention delegates are gay or lesbian."
It will never be enough! Will they also guarantee at a representative number of prolifers too?

Right on! I was wondering just exactly how these would be gay delegates prove that they were gay?

I'm hoping that the "Democrat Transgender Hermaphrodite Subcommittee" is instrumental in the drafting of the Democratic Platform for 2006...2008.

Just curious, but how does a delegate go about proving he's gay to win the quota? Is his word good enough?

I am not particularly concerned about what democrats do.
I am much more concerned that Republicans may copy things democrats do.
Spending, immigration, ad infinitum.
To: NativeNewYorker
If the Dems increase the quota for that special-interest group, then they'll have to decrease the quota for some other liberal special interest group. Unionized teachers? Blacks? Planned Parenthood? Someone will be upset...
