Absolutely correct, sir! One thing we've learned since Desert Storm is that the Russians/soviets/Evil Empire make crappy weapons.
Remember the "$10 billion in arms saddam bought from the Russians"? I don't think saddam got his money's worth. Of course, he isn't really in any condition to complain now, is he?
Also, please remember one steel fact: It's not just the weapons. Even more critical to winning a firefight, battle, or war is the quality of personnel and their training. (Train, train, train!) I'm betting that the iranians are even worse fighters than the Iraqis, because of the low quality of their personnel and the chinese firedrills that pass for military training. Think along the lines of a monkey in the missile compartment of a Ohio-class boomer. "Insha allah, how do I make it go bang?"
Exactly. Forced military service does not produce quality forces. It will be 5-10 years before these things are ever fielded anyway. Even if these things were 100% effective against cruise missiles, they would run out of rounds before the first wave of attacks were finished.
