"Some areas were so remote they were only accessible by helicopter." SO, are they saying a prehistory culture had helios and we just rediscovered this ancient technology - or is the reporter showing his liberal art education?

The reporter is lazy urbanite whose idea of roughing it consists of going without any latte. Places like that are accessible to anyone knowing how to live off that land and willing to climb and *gasp* walk.
Actually, it's probably cooler, safer, and far from the ex-spouse.
