BTW, Most of my ex-military guys (I was not in the United States military) like the 9 better than a .45 acp, due to getting back on taget in a multiple tap situation.
My personal choice is a Sig 9 P226 with Remington Golden Sabre +P. The carry is a 9mm Kurz P232 with Golden Sabre.
If I am more accurate with a a few .22 magnum multople rounds to the cranium, then I am more effective wounding a perp in the shoulder with a .45 acp.
9mm are excellent for the range. 1911's are currently sought after in Iraq, as is the m-14. Many SWAT units around the country are going to the .45, the Kimber seems to be the version of choice.
It's funny that real life situations (such as combat) are the driving force behind the reemergence of the .45. I guess ol' Mr. Browning new a thing or two about firearms after all.
