With terrorist groups like PETA, ALF and their ilk ready at a moments notice to destroy, kill and maim anyone to forward their agenda. Maybe they don't want to have to deal with the lies, demonstrations and terrorist attacks broadcasting images of the fishing would provoke?

I don't drag a film crew into the pig lot when we butcher a mess of hogs. I suspect these people are doing the same for the same reason. Any fool who doesn't understand where meat comes from might get a wee bit upset to see the actual butchering process.

Actually, elevated mercury levels sound pretty credible to me. Japan (and probably Korea) have a history of dumping mercury in the ocean, and this is not the first report of elevated mercury in marine mammals and large fish that I have seen.
