They can have Mardi Gras in February, but not an election?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. More than five months after a natural disaster with residents gathered in temporary housing and many resettled elsewhere, it would seem like the logistical problems were fewer, not greater. I suppose registration rolls may have been lost in the flood and some of the residents of the cemetaries may have floated away, but it seems like elections are a lot easier to run with fewer people and less chances for corruption. Which, I suspect, is exactly the problem.
Congress needs to grow some balls and make aid contingent on basic criteria, such as holding elections on time.

----Exactly what I was thinking. But you still hear 'we need homes", "we need jobs", "we need 230 billion dollars" .What YOU need is a new Mayor and Govenor, but on with Mardi Gras.
