It is actually a funny line, and if it had been Clinton - I'd have laughed till I cried.

If Bush is appearing in front of the troops more, it is because the bad press the troops and the mission have been getting has been wearing on their morale. Especially now when they're getting real close to the December elections for a permanent government in Iraq and the negative press has completely ignored what a bang up job our service members have been doing.

So, if the President wasn't doing what he is doing, the press would be criticizing him for ignoring the troops who are sacrificing for his policies.

If it had been the ClinToon; it would have read: Military must applaud for Pres or be shot!

And it wouldn't have been funny cause it would have been true.

Astute analogy, the president knows who knows what's going on and those who don't.
