well I haven't taken Spanish classes since high school, but they could've gone with:

fiesta
dia festivo

or if you wanted to literally translate "holy day" it would be something along the lines of "dia santa"

Actualmente, el dia santo. Holidays such as Easter and Christmas are referred to as Pascua.
