Religious groups at war with those that take Christmas out of the holiday

"People who think they are being politically correct and inoffensive are actually offending a lot of people," said Beddows, as he sized up a handsome balsam fir. "Saying 'Happy Holidays' demeans Christmas."

But down the road at the Baltimore Resettlement Center in Highlandtown, which helps refugees from places such as Russia and Somalia adapt to American society, staff members said they prefer not to mention the holidays at all. If they must, they say "holiday season."

"These people came here for their religious freedom, and they don't want to celebrate other people's Christmas," said Anna Schraga, who teaches English at the center. "Saying 'holiday season' respects that."

The 4th is not a religious holiday.

Well, I notice and am not happy

I think people using Christmas as an excuse for gross overconsumption & greed to the point they are beating each other up at department stores is far more offensive than whether or not some minimum wage drone wishes me "Merry Christmas" or not.

(Not that I necessarily have anything against gross overconsumption or greed, mind you -- it's just that Christmas shouldn't be the linchpin)

You stated next they would take Fourth of July out of the holiday. They are not concerned with holidays that aren't religious, that's all.

I agree. Christmas is now about consumption, not the birth of Jesus Christ.

You are correct about that. However, words and their usage delineate a culture. A homosexual is a homosexual not a gay. Gay sounds so much more acceptable if one is seeking to make homosexuality acceptable.
Gender does not refer to one's sex it refers to masculine or feminine. Gender is being cast about so that terms such as transgender, bisexual, gay and transexual can be recognized as separate catagories for protection under sexual discrimination laws. With the term sex you are either male or female. That is to specific for the radical liberals.
The same word usage is taking place this Christmas season. We now have holiday trees, happy holiday and songs with the verse, " We wish you a happy holiday", instead of,"We wish you a Merry Christmas."
The usage of non-standard American English simply a part of the scheme.

Russians are almost all Christians or athiests (most refugees are Christian).

Most of the Russian immigrants I've known and worked with are Jews, who managed to get out of the Soviet Union. They are delighted to be able to openly express their religion, as well as Christian's. My Russian emigré friend here at work wishes me a "Merry Christmas" and I reciprocate with "Happy Hannukah" - we both smile...

I heard on the radio this AM, that they are coming out with a new $10(20?) bill. The "IN GOD WE TRUST" has been replaced. There is definitely a coordinated attack on religious ideas.

You're saying they are removing "In God We Trust" from the currency? How could that happen and we haven't heard about it? You sure it isn't another urban legend?

It would be sorta nice to go back to E pluribus unum.

That was when we expected it to happen.

...and they don't want to celebrate other people's Christmas

They just want to take advantage of the generosity and freedom that a nation built by Christians affords. Don't tell me they can't handle hearing "Merry Christmas"! These social workers are just projecting their own hostility, I hope.
