Reporter's Notebook:
The Making of "Winning Iraq"
By Greg Palkot
FNC's Greg Palkot
It was one of those good news/bad news offers. The good news is you get to go to Iraq to do something more than the typical schedule of live shots. The bad news is you get to go to Iraq and do more than the typical schedule of live shots. Meaning: You put yourself in as much harm's way as nearly possible to find out how people not trying to cause harm are living.
You see the point is, we, out of necessity in the business, have to cover the suicide bomb attacks, insurgent raids, and door-kicking which get most of the headlines in the Iraq story. But there is this whole mass of people in Iraq who, IN SPITE of the trouble, are getting on with their lives. And, in many cases, making their lives better than when tyrant Saddam was around.
**SNIP**
Will it all work out? Wherever you stand on the debate on the war, you have to hope so, for the sake of the people in Iraq who had no say in how things went one way or another. In the documentary on Saturday night, you'll meet a whole bunch of these people. And we promise you that you won't see a single press conference by a politician bloviating, as my colleague Bill O'Reilly would say. I invite you to tune in. I promise you its a side of Iraq you won't see anywhere else it needs to be seen.

Ever since Murtha has thrown around that "over 80% of Iraqis want us out now"...it is repeated as gospel by all dems...
Shoot, they can't even get honest polling here...why would we think they could in Iraq?
Nadler is an idiot!
Did ya hear the one women who said she wants her daughter to marry an American
Oh yea .. sure sounds like they hate us there ... /sarcasm >
Has anyone figured out where they are getting those poll numbers from?
This show also puts a lie to the idiots that claim that the reports can't even get out of the Green Zone, because it is so dangerous...
Looks like Palkot took his chances and they paid off...
LOL---it is getting where any time I hear a reporter or politician bring up poll numbers, that my eyes just roll back into my head and I have to mute the TV!
Finally........the TRUTH is told!!
Great show. Thank you FOX!!
Watching it now. It is very good...wish I had taped it.
Sunset cruises
Nope .. I haven't heard the media report on that before
Sunday=Saturday. . .sorry.:(
Land that once was going to be a palace for Saddam ... will now be a shopping mall
Hmmm ... Nope .. I haven't heard the media report on that either
Bump
Darn, I wish I had set up to record the show.
It is EXCELLENT.
Best thing I have seen on TV in a long time.
I dropped them a note and told them so.
Also recommended that they release it to their local Fox broadcast affiliates.
I hope they re-run it and I can record it for 'posterity'.
In fact, I wish there was some way to force CBSABCNBCPBS to all play it during primetime every day for the next week..
