They're not anti-immigrant sentiments. They're anti-illegal immigrant sentiments.

Mehlman. Mehlman. Sounds French. Since he's waving the white flag, I guess it is.

OK. We'll be cautious when we air-drop them back into Mexico.

And until these clowns learn the difference, their "concerns" don't deserve to be taken the least bit seriously.

Ken, you're risking donations and elections for everyone in your party. Sit down and shut your mouth until you get a clue. 90% of the American public is fed up with open borders, and you're just not that bright.

You've got to be freakin' kidding me! I can't believe what he said. I just read the article and I'm...grrrrr...I can't even express how pissed off I am at this. I felt the same way when President Bush started talking about his dumbass amnesty scheme right after he was re-elected - after I'd spent so much time working to get him re-elected. Betrayed. Again. I need to get on Dr. Phil - maybe he can help me come to grips with my battered Republican syndrome. I can't seem to handle it myself.

Anyone think the GOP chairman and BUSH have any clue how the base feels about illegal immigration..I am of the opinion both could care a rats butt about the base until election time comes around. Who is this guy BUSH ?? my guess a Ivy League elite who is for big government and OPEN borders. The Elite have a plan but the American people and the constitution may have to be sacrificed for the ultimate goal.

Someone should ask Ken "...and how's that working out for ya?" One of the reasons the President's poll numbers are low is because of their stance (and what would that be?) on illegal immigration.
These guys need to get a clue before they can understand what average Americans are putting up with out here. Afterall, we aren't all shielded behind guarded gates and barricades, we live with the illegals everyday.

If the US needs and wants more immigrants, then let's have a vote and change the number of visas that are given out. There should be requirements on those visas. People should enter the country through ports of entry. They should not have a criminal background, they should risk losing their visa if they acquire a criminal record here. All illegals should be deported immediately. I don't think anyone wants to keep honest people from the American Dream...we also don't want to allow people to come into this country completely unchecked and acquire new identities via the matricular consular card. Also, we should be careful about people that just want to live here without embracing our culture and becoming Americans. It is not unreasonable that we require a pledge of allegiance from potential citizens or that we require and encourage them to learn the English language. It will only help them in the future. Of course that would require adopting a national language and rejecting multiculturalism in government. We also need to get rid of anchor baby policies and we should be well on the way to a solution. If it was known that the only way to work in this country was legally, the flow would stop right there as long as they felt that there was a real possibility that they could enter the country legally within a reasonable amount of time as well.

So it's now wrong to want to defend America's borders??
Time for Mehlman to look for new work.

I gave money to the GOP in the past (last election all my contributions went to the SwiftBoat guys).
I keep getting these surveys from the national party plus various congressional campaigns. You know "do you support lower taxes" "Do you support a more conservative court"... Never a mention of violations of our immigration laws. So I mark them up with demands for border security and instant deportment of ALL illegals and send it back in the pre-paid envelope.
Well this week I got one from First that featured the immigration topic on top. I almost sent money but instead marked it up to say that I will do send money when you do something.

Now, was this the same Ken Mehlman who said the GOP's mission was no longer to limit the growth and scope of the Federal government, or words to that effect? Hmmmmmm...
