Why is Latin so frickin' complicated. How did people actually learn all the tenses and senses. How do priests and bishes?

It is really not that complicated once you see the pattern that runs through the various forms. The modern romance languages have similar systems of conjugations through inflection.

Old English was a lot like that, too. So were a lot of languages.

It could be worse. Latin just has active and passive...Ancient Greek has active, passive, and middle, plus a whole mood that Latin doesn't have, the optative (alongside the indicative and the subjunctive).

Slavic languages, still being spoken, are even worse, with "perfective" and "imperfective" verbs...plus half of them are written in the Cyrillic alphabet.
