grossest analogy ever...i did not need that visual
:)
Nice how the AP takes it for granted that the troops (which, or course, they support "are you questioning the AP's patriotism?!!") are lying and the local jihadi sympathizers are bravely speaking "truth to power."
It takes talent to work defeatism and anti-Americanism into an article entitled "Bombings in Iraq Fall to Seven-Month Low." Unfortunately, the AP has that talent.
its good news of course.
but generally speaking, it is not a good idea to cede to the media that the defintion of "winning" this war is measuring how many car bombs go off, and you only "win" when it falls to zero. these kinds of attacks are going to be part of the internal iraqi security problem for a long time to come - of course the fewer the better, but it has nothing to do with "winning the war".
the US has already won the part of the war our forces were designed to win. I wish the administration were on message on this point. what's going on now, the internal security situation and the use of US forces to help get the iraqis up to speed, it is very important - but its not "the war". so long as this is the definition of "the war", the media and the left can continue to highlight every bomb attack as "we are losing". this is the daily spin the sheeple are being spoon fed - turn on any MSM source, every radio report that covers iraq, every "bomb goes off" story is presented in this manner.
Laura Ingraham was getting on Dan Bartlett on this theme on yesterday's show - she was pretty direct with him, asking him bluntly "is the white house even aware of the spin on the media reporting the people are getting, to try to counter it?". Dan was not too "plugged in" if you ask me.
Are you serious. The MSM would crawl over broken glass to report an IED attack.
I doubt they are being reported less.
One sentence about positive news from the US military. The rest of the article is an advertisement for the terrorists.
At least 96 percent of suicide bombers are from outside of Iraq....
He said exact figures were not immediately available, but that [there] was a 34 percent reduction in overall casualties...."
I mean, the guy admits that exact figures are not available and then states that there's been exactly a 34 percent reduction. The guy shot his own credibility in the foot.
The traitors will be the first ones to hog the limelight when troops come home, though.
I hope the first time John Kerry, John Murtha, or any of the SURRENDER MONKEYS in the 'rat party (all of 'em except Lieberman) try to "greet" a returning Iraq War hero, they're greeted with a code Red. Or at least a cold shoulder.
The MSM is countering with a story of the US military buying a good news story in the Iraqi press.
