That's great kanawa!
I met him at a rally once.
It's too bad his charisma doesn't transfer well to TV or print, but even that is getting better.
Will you please ping me to the pictures as well?
You bet!
I've met him too. He's a great guy. Actually he's got a fabulous sense of humor and real quick wit. He's a really really principled man and sometimes that may come off as "boring". I don't want a star running the country. I want an honest, smart, business friendly savvy guy and that's what he is. He's an economist!! I just loved the time I spent with him.
The rally was scheduled for 2:30.
I got there early but the young campaign workers were already lined up to greet Steven.
It is always good to see so many young people supporting the conservative cause.
Steven arrives and takes the time to speak with each of his greeters.
I moved over to the stairs to get a shot of him coming up.
He was looking up but by the time I got my shot he had lowered his head
As I was frantically turning the film forward,he looked towards me and held this pose for my shot.
I was elated and after he passed I turned to a little old lady next me and excitedly said, 'He gave me thumbs up picture'.
She smiled knowingly, touched my arm and said, 'Yes, dear', while nodding her head. LOL
He took the stage flanked by area Conservative candidates.
The Sikh fellow on stage is my local candidate Ajmer Mandur
Mr. Harper gave a good speech. He was warm, humourous and articulate.
He got in some good zingers on the Liberals but emphasized the positive aspects of the party's platform.
His GST promise was well received.
I like the fact that it helps everyone yet those on low incomes get a larger proportional benefit.
For me, half my gross income is spent on supplies and maintenance to keep my business going.
Being the frugal guy I am, I'm looking forward to have an extra buck in my pocket for every 100 spent.
Some of the biggest applause (and certainly from me)
was when he spoke of our military and upgrading them so they could fufill our responsibility in the world
and when he forcefully promised that Senators would be elected.
All in all, a great rally and well attended for 2:30 on a work day.
As the rally ended he made his way through the crowd and I was able to shake his hand and told him to 'give 'em hell'
It was motivating start to the campaign.
I had to burn off some film so I asked Sam what he thought of Liberals...
