Hillary fine-tunes message on war in Iraq

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, like President George W. Bush, is repackaging her Iraq War pitch to soothe worried supporters.

In an unusual 1,600-word "Dear Friend" letter sent to constituents and campaign contributors on the eve of the president's Iraq speech, the New York Democrat reiterated her support for the war while backing off her previous reluctance to setting withdrawal timetables for U.S. troops.

The missive was composed after Clinton received thousands of letters and e-mails on the war, many asking her to justify her October 2002 vote authorizing the invasion of Iraq, according to Clinton's campaign and Senate staffers.

"I do not believe that we should allow this to be an open-ended commitment without limits or end," wrote Clinton. "Nor do I believe that we can or should pull out of Iraq immediately."

A simple question to ask her, if you wanted to pop this particular rhetorical balloon, would be. "What calendar date would you establish as the end date, Senator?"

Fine tunes?

AKA Flip-Flop. Hillary is just a political opportunist, plain and simple. She held out this long on admitting her "mistake" in case the war started going differently. She's hated by all the conservatives, perhaps now the libs will turn on her too.

Hillary should bask in the knowledge that wherever she is, wherever she stands in the senate or in a village hall spreading her good word on how the world should operate under her super intelligent management, Vince Foster (although invisible to our eye) is standing beside her.

Vince is waiting his chance and can't go to his reward until the beast meets her end.

Those whispers she hears at night while tossing to and fro in her bed (shared by her nameless private sexretary) are coming from the spiritual lips of the murdered Foster who must prowl about Hillary until his death is avenged.

She is one haunted witch.

The former first lady has tried to chart a middle course on the war, defending her vote while attacking Bush for "false assurances, faulty evidence and mismanagement of the war."

Yup, thar she blows. Hil is watching the other Dems throw up all kinds of conflicting positions and watching for ones she can use to play herself off as "centrist" on the war. She's doing exactly what her husband used to do. It's time for Republicans to really press her on her views like they do with other liberals. Put her in positions where she as to declare herself one way or the other.

But that assumes Republicans have the, um, backbone to do so.

She supported the war in Iraq before she didn't.

Really ducky Hill! You got one slight problem----you are either for us or against us in the war on terror.

And you just can't figure out there is no where to sit your rear down on this one. HA you slimey snake.

Hillary might easily respond:

"Let me explain:

1. You just don't understand the fine art of nuance.

2. Trust me. I'm the smartest woman in America.

3. Watch it. Someday, I have a good chance of being President. And I will make sure I royally screw up everybody and anybody that had the audacity to question me in the past, not including the supine RINO's I currently have in my lockbox, supplied courtesy of a traitorously compliant FBI. So don't make yourself a future target for me today."
----
And I don't say any of this in jest. Hillary is the worst nightmare that idiots might willingly put into office.

She consistently overstates the obvious. Will someone tell her to just shut up?

Democrats expect their candidates to lie. They don't care at all. They know the media will pretend not to notice and carry their lies for them.
